Private Jet Charter Guide: From Request to Take-off
IDAJET Editorial Team · · 6 min read

A practical guide to chartering a private jet: what to prepare, how to read a quote and what to consider on international flights.
Preparing your request
A good quote starts with a clear request. Departure and destination, date and approximate time, passenger count and baggage are the essentials the operations team needs. If you are flexible on timing, say so — it raises the chance of finding a better-positioned aircraft.
- Departure / destination and preferred airport
- Date and time window
- Passenger count, large or special baggage
- Pets, special catering or accessibility needs
Reading the quotation
A private jet quote lists the aircraft type, cabin capacity, flight time and total price. Always check whether airport and passenger taxes, ground handling, crew accommodation and waiting fees are included. On round trips, whether the aircraft waits for you at the destination changes the price considerably.
Planning international flights
On international flights, passports and visas are the passenger's responsibility; check the entry rules of the destination country in advance. Some airports have slot requirements and night restrictions, so sending your request early helps in peak season.
Private terminals (FBOs) usually complete passport and security formalities within minutes.
On the day
Private jet passengers typically arrive at the terminal shortly before departure. Planning VIP transfers, hotels and yachts with the same team lets you manage the whole trip from one point of contact.
